Projects and Publications (Pro&Pub) is a program developed by GLADEL aimed at stimulating scientific research and publication in relation to different aspects of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) using mainly data obtained from the original GLADEL (1997) and/or GLADEL 2.0 cohorts (2019) and the educational projects “Let´s talk about Lupus”, “Falando do Lupus”, and “Is it Lupus?”
Objectives
→ To encourage the development of research projects within the GLADEL network, using data from both its scientific and educational areas.
→ To promote the development of studies based on regional data with the support of the GLADEL network.
→ To provide guidance for project development.
→ To facilitate the publication of project results in indexed journals, preferably in English.
Recipients
→ GLADEL network researchers: physicians, epidemiologists, biologists, specialized nurses, postgraduate students, professionals from other health fields, among others.
→ At the time of submitting the scholarship application, the principal investigator (PI) must be a GLADEL member. If not, they must have applied previously. More information here.
Proposal
Researchers whose proposals are accepted by the GLADEL Scientific Committee will obtain:
→ Access to the requested data from the GLADEL registry or educational project.
→ Service from the GLADEL statistics team.
→ GLADEL mentoring service both for methodological development of the project and for the preparation and review of the manuscript for publication in a PubMed-indexed journal.
→ Fee of 2,500 US dollars allocated to each research project, depending on its characteristics.
Requirements
Scholarship application:
→ Letter from the principal investigator, in English, mentioning the proposed project, its main objectives, justification for the study, and the database to be used.
→ Research proposal, using the Project Presentation Format.
→ Letter of recommendation from the Head of the Service or Institution of a center belonging to the GLADEL network.
By obtaining the Pro&Pub scholarship:
→ Respecting the established work schedule.
→ Maintaining open communication with their GLADEL-assigned mentor.
→ Present a project progress report to the GLADEL Scientific Committee every 3 months.
→ Present the results in an abstract format at national/international congresses (EULAR, ACR, PANLAR, Lupus Congress) (maximum time 12 months).
→ Publish the results in an English-language journal indexed in PubMed (maximum time 18 months).
